What happened?

Some months ago, Rebecca and her family began contemplating a move to Canada, as Rebecca has family there and job opportunities are stronger for Acupuncturists and Physical Therapists. After much consideration, we decided to give it a try and see what happened.

Our immigration lawyer strongly advised us to do nothing publicly (quitting jobs, selling homes, etc.) until our move was assured. While we quietly laid groundwork and prepared, we never could have guessed that it would all happen so quickly!

Based on job offers and the need to cross the border before the snow, things moved MUCH faster than expected. We only received confirmation just after Labor Day that we had a confirmed moving date to Calgary.

Where do I get Acupuncture now??

Never fear! Rebecca has had the incredible fortune of finding a highly skilled Acupuncturist to take her place right here in La Center.
Business will continue almost as usual, with Acupuncture services provided in the Heritage Building with very little interruption.

Who is this new person?

Katie Whitten, LAc is a licensed acupuncturist and proud La Center High School alum, excited to return to her hometown offering holistic care to the community.
  • Graduate of Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (2021) - Rebecca's alma matter!
  • Focused on family medicine, supporting patients of all ages
  • Passionate about helping people reconnect with their body’s natural ability to heal
  • Enjoys being active and tending to her hobby farm with her young son
Rebecca feels confident that Katie will continue the excellent care you’ve come to expect.

What will happen to my current appointments after 9/19?

Here’s how it works:
  • ✅ All appointments for Tuesday 9/23 and Thursday, 9/25, remain scheduled as is with Katie unless you prefer to cancel.
  • ✅ All appointments on Tuesday 9/30, Thursday 10/2 and Friday, 10/3, and all Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays thereafter remain scheduled as is with Katie unless you prefer to cancel.
  • ❌ All other appointments will need to be rescheduled at this time.
Rest assured that Katie and Rebecca are working very hard to ensure everyone gets the treatment they need as quickly as possible.
(Rebecca knows how long some of you have been waiting to get in and is truly sorry for any hardship this transition may cause, she never could have expected things to move so quickly.)

Katie’s and Rebecca will work through the schedule as quickly as possible, starting with patients who have the soonest appointments.

What if I have a referral from the VA or Kaiser?

Good news: Katie is contracted with BOTH Kaiser and the VA.
Rebecca’s move creates a special circumstance where referrals can be reassigned to the incoming provider mid-stream. Rebecca will do her best to ensure these are transferred as smoothly as possible.

Does Katie Accept my Insurance?

Most likely, yes! Katie is contracted with:

Does Katie do Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?

No, unfortunately Katie does not do Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. BUT she has an amazing colleague who does whom she can refer you to, and Erin and the girls at Le Petite Spa ini the building are ready with facials and micro needling any time!

Will Rebecca miss me?

Yes! I am going to miss ALL of you so much. I can't thank you enough for letting me be a partner in your care in whatever capacity I have been fortunate to do so. I know this transition will be hard, but I feel extremely lucky to have found someone willing to take over my practice so swiftly who is a La Center Native and who is so passionate about care to boot. She will be a HUGE asset to this town and to all of you, my patients.

Why am I still receiving a bill after 9/20 from All Ways Well?

Thanks to the wonderfulness of insurance, All Ways Well will still be open in a billing capacity only through the end of the year to close up all necessary financial matters. If you receive a billing email or message yes, its me, its real, please reply!
